A broken window or a new shower screen is quoted on details you may not think to give. Asking each glazier the same questions brings those details out.

What changes the price

Each kind of glass is priced differently, so two quotes can differ simply because each glazier assumed a different glass. Ask each one to name the glass for each piece.

Access matters as well. A window on an upper floor, or a large pane that takes two people to carry, can add to the price.

Before you call

Take a photo of the window or door, close up and from a step back, so the glazier can see the frame. If you can measure the visible glass, give the figure as a guide and let them confirm it.

Say whether the glass is in a door, a window, a shower or a table top. The answer changes what each glazier will quote.
